Logo Design for Bathily, a Supply Chain Business.

Bathily is a family run wholesaler and supply chain based in Mali, West Africa, who deliver grocery and beauty products to convenience stores.

To help the business grow, and to differentiate itself from its direct competitors, the company required a bespoke logo and graphic design services which could be used on its delivery vans, business cards and store front.

Designing the Identity for Bathily

With huge growth ambitions, the start-up company aim to attract business from global organisations and hope to compete with businesses such as McLane, Dot Trucking Company, ETS Djigue S.A and Nimaga. This meant that Bathily needed a professional logo design and brand identity from the outset, which would allow them to stand out from the competition, and be taken seriously by their target audience.

As Bathily offers a cost effective delivery service with the convenience of delivering any time needed day or night, I wanted to design a logo which represented the speed and reliability of delivery, whilst giving visual reference to the convenient delivery times.

To symbolise the speed and convenience of delivery a symbol has been designed which represents the speed of movement, whilst looking like the rear of an arrow.

The colour combination selected is based on the concept of ‘day and night’ – orange for the day, dark blue for night. This icon is also a monogram of the letter B, which can be used as a standalone mark in locations such as packaging, labels and social media.

The font, which has been customised to be unique and work in harmony with the symbol design, is clean, simple and professional, which will appeal to global corporate organisations.

An Award Winning Logo Design

After the logo was completed, it was entered into the International Visual Identity Awards, who pride themselves as being the world's most comprehensive and independent visual identity competition in the world.

Entered under the 'Transport and Automotive' category, I was extremely honoured to win the highest award of Gold for the design created for Bathily.

I have also subsequently been invited to be on the jury, along side influential designer Jacob Cass, allowing me to view and judge some of the best brand identity design work in the world.

The customer was extremely happy with the final logo design, kindly providing the below ‘amazing’ testimonial.

"Ian Paget is simply a genius. There are so many designers, but not so many great designers. Ian developed our new company logo. I found him to be creative and easy going and I am very happy with our new logo. The fact we were not in the same country / time zone did not affect our project at all. He is an artist and a real professional in the same body. I would hire him again immediately without thinking about any ‘local options’. Thank you, Ian"
